I am the first one to carry on if animals are not being cared for or treated right. Big Cat habitat not only cares for the animals but has rescued many. The enclosures are large, many with pools and other enrichment items. The cost to get in is great and we added on a few things in the spot like capybara feeding and pics with the tiger (Barry white is treated like a big baby and loves his trainer) at the end of the show, Barry gets into a glass like enclosure for pics $10 per group. He is only in the small enclosure for 10-15 minutes and is being treated the entire time.
The show host Clayton is so funny but i got his message about regular folks should not have exotics. Big cat is big about adopting from local rescues (which i am a rescuer). I went with my bff and goddaughter. They were just as excited as i was.
Not worth the money. Some animals seemed distressed, pacing back and forth. The animal show was the owner talking for 20 minutes and the animals were on about 10 minutes. People with children were walking out, due to restlessness.
What an amazing find! Went with my grandkids ranging in age from 4 to 11 and they all had a great time viewing all the animals! Price was appropriate and extras like pony rides and feeding animals were also well priced. Definitely will consider revisiting if in the area again.
The conditions of the animals I feel so sad for them and they didn’t tell me that they didn’t tell me that I can’t go in the wildside with my service dog. Please go to Tampa Zoo. I feel for the animals in this establishment.
As hosts this was our fourth visit and it never gets old. Our guests were wowed. Being so close to so many magnificent creatures is an incredible experience. And holding a baby goat is fabulous. We all loved it!
I would give this zero stars if I could. The animals are kept in tiny cages while looking sad and distressed. No animals should be exploited like this for human greed.
We were visiting the Clearwater area and wanted to take a drive so I picked the Big Cat Habitat as an activity. I was a cool experience. No-one likes to see animals caged and for some reason us humans love to see animals and I guess this is the only way that is economical to do. I was able to feed a brown bear and the animals are SOOO close to you. I took pictures of them and there was no zoom needed. Overall it was a good experience.
We walked out almost immediately. The meat on a stick for the bear, was more than I could take. The cats in such small enclosures, it reminded me of Lowrey Park, before they knew better. Very sad. Is there not a group that wants this to be investigated? I will start with the Dept. of Ag and see where that get's me.
Wonderful place. They rescue animals from retiring circus performers, folding circuses, people who had no business raising a big cat.
The animals are well cared for, some of them perform, manned by an army of volunteers interested in making it work.
This place should be shut down. Every animal is confined in spaces much too small. The bears look stressed and unhealthy. If I had to guess I would say it’s due to the incredibly small space they have 4 bears confined in, the stick with the chunk of hotdog being shoved in their faces repeatedly, and being treated like a circus act. One of the tigers had what appeared to be pressure sores on their elbows. I suspect it’s from being forced to sleep on a concrete slab. There was a monkey that looked just miserable. My visit lasted under 30 minutes as I refused to be a part of their misery. The only thing this place cares about is making a buck. It’s disgusting. I’m disappointed in myself for not researching before my visit.
