Back Lakes (Hou Hai)

Houhai is a famous scenic spot in Beijing. It is located in the last three seas of Shichahai. It is the largest piece of water at present. I personally love coming here in winter for ice activities. Here is also a gathering place of royal and noble houses and villas, surrounded by a number of ancient temples, such as the fire temple. The three-story octagonal building with a spire stands in the middle of the Hubei bank. Together with the bell tower and drum tower, Houhai is more ancient and graceful.
