Despite extremely challenging conditions including no wind, unusually warm temperatures, bright sunshine, and one very rookie angler client, they somehow managed to guide me to a new personal record that doubled my previous trout count. The day was so historic that I underwent an official name change to “Jakey 4 Fish.”
I knew these guys were the real deal when they proposed a strategy session meeting the day before. Any guides who prepare game plans like an NFL coaching staff are clearly operating at the highest level. Within minutes we were fast friends, laughing nonstop and swapping stories.
The day itself was unreal. Private waters in stunning Patagonia, beautiful large brown trout, and expert instruction from master angler Fernando. Between the coaching, perfect positioning, and endless patience with my rookie casting, the fish just kept coming.
We recharged at halftime with an epic riverside lunch and a steady stream of jokes that made the entire day feel like fishing with old friends rather than guides.
Bottom line.
Incredible private water.
Beautiful big brown trout.
World class guiding.
Great laughs and even better people.
