点评:Tips for a fabulous first day at the Spring Festival: grab a coffee and croissant to go from Hid’s cafe at 7:30 and head for the Miyagawa morning market which opens at 8. It closes at noon so if you like anything buy it. 8:45 head through the old town to find teams of men hauling their wooden floats through the narrow streets into position for the day. Catch the floats processing over the red Nakabashi bridge 9:00 for iconic photos. Get into place by 9:15 to watch the 10:00 marionette performance. Walk along Shinmeicho street to look more closely at the floats and head up to Hie Jinja shrine for a peaceful interlude and collect your goshuins. Grab lunch from the Bremen bakery. Walk to the Domae shrine to watch the Shinto ceremony at 13:30 and follow the procession through town - check the map for crossing places where one parade joins the next. The festival route maps are on line and also show the public toilets. Then there’s time to rest your feet for a drink and milk tea cheesecake at Don’s cafe before heading back over the river into the old town by 17:00. Watch the yatai (wooden floats) being pulled into place for the evening parade and see the splendid lion dance. Find your spot to see the lantern lit night parade 18:00 - 21:00. Just stay in one place and let the parade pass you by. Finally dinner - we had a Wagu/Haida beef platter at Yakiniku restaurant (reserve ahead- we did the night before)
