点评:We had very high expectations of the Pushkar mela but to be honest it was a let down.
All the handicraft and cottage industry stuff you see in the shops can be bought in the local market.
We went to see some animals and saw a few horses and camels. There are some animal rides, giant wheel, etc - all that we can see elsewhere too. The camels stink!
The road was so badly jammed that it was impossible to move there in the evening and we had to go by foot. And after 3 km, we gave up as the shops were the same - selling handicraft, food stuff, displays of statues made of sand, etc. The entire road was filled with smoke of diesel and adulterated petrol from jeeps.
We pleaded with some 2 wheelers to take us back as they could slowly weave through the jam.
Too much hype about the place especially for Indians. Maybe it is exciting for international tourists.
