点评：We had an excellent time in the Gambia with Omar. He was an entertaining and interesting host - with a great knowledge of the local wildlife and traditions.
We visited Fathala Wildlife reserve - which was a real experience. There aren't a huge amount of wild animals there - a solitary rhino for example - but certainly worth the trip for the journey itself. Crossing the Gambia river on the Ferry and getting across the Senegalese border (don't forget your Yellow Fever vaccination paperwork) - are experiences that me and the family will never forget. Omar made sure we were being well looked after all the time.
On another day we also visited the Kachikally Crocodile Pool - with the museum attached detailing some of the customs and musical heritage of the Gambia, and the Monkey Park, which we all loved. The monkeys are very tame and it was a great place to get pictures.
We then went on to the reptile sanctuary and had lunch at Doudou's Riverside Bar & Restaurant right on the Senegal border in the far South of the Gambia - with excellent seafood and finally ended up with a boat ride down the river to the sea via Pelican Island.
Omar was a great host throughout and was up for helping out with anything, from visiting the local shops to get money exchanged with his 'sister' and he can easily be found by the Chelsea juice bar outside the Ocean Bay hotel - everyone seemed to know him.
