Rio savegre Waterfall的点评
点评：A challenging and fun experience to be enjoyed on a dry day. We were advised against tackling this walk by our hotel staff due to the trail being in significant disrepair. I think they took one look at my husband’s white hair and felt it would be unsafe. He however is a fit and agile Scottish experienced hillwalker in his late 60s and managed without problem.Wear sturdy walking shoes and be aware of your own personal limitations and take care. This is not a manicured theme park trail and some risk is present.Walk about a mile from the Savegre Hotel towards the end of the road . You will see a metal gate and a track which leads to the trout farm - this is the path. If you run out of tarmac and meet the dirt road you have gone too far. The sign posts are easy to miss - take the track up past the trout farm keeping the trout farm on your right. You will come to a fork in the paths take the lower path to the right. The walk and path down to the first waterfall is fairly straightforward. Thereafter there are many tricky areas- steps which are more like ladders missing the actual steps, overgrown tree roots, fallen trees requiring you to crawl under , slippy boulders with only a bit of green rope to hold onto. The hanging bridge has lost a lot of its horizontal rope but the vertical metal struts are still secure and in place. The final steps down to the waterfall are long , slippery and steep. The waterfall view is partly hidden by a massive boulder. It is possible to go further down holding onto a rope but we stopped there. It’s not the most impressive waterfall but the trek was one of our best experiences in Costa Rica.
