点评：Aesthetically this is a very nice place. The grounds are large, lots of mature trees and interesting buildings. The property has two distinct accomodation buildings, the main part (the keep) and an annexe (clock house). Most bedrooms are in the main building with three more in the clock house which also has a bathroom and kitchen. Unfortunately, although it is supposedly a fully operational kitchen, it did not contain any cooking utensils, crockery or cutlery and there was a faulty fridge door and, there was insufficient bedding.
The main building was well fitted out with authentic looking furniture and fittings but we did feel that the lighting, internally and externally needs improvement. The lights are all motion sensor controlled, which is good from an economic point of view but not very good when extra lighting is required, for example, when reading. To be able to switch on some extra lights would be useful.
Although there were two sitting rooms, there was only one TV- not too good when, like us, you have a large party.
Surprisingly, there were no waste bins, except in the kitchen. I have never stayed anywhere where waste bins are not provided. Road noise at this property is a big problem. The main road is incredibly busy. Day and night.
Finally, the main entrance is poorly signposted - a decent sign, visible from both directions would be really helpful.
I do not intend this to be super critical but informative. We still enjoyed are stay, for the most part but, improvements could be made.
