点评：Installed in 2014, The Whale Tail is situated on the Esplanade and represents the Southern Right whales that travel in the area in winter. Local artists Cindy Poole and Jason Wooldridge designed the artwork with many tributes tucked into the design.
I especially loved the integration of coloured glass panels into the design and the way the sun light plays with the colours throughout the day. I saw it late one afternoon and the shadows that were caste were awesome – although I could not manage to capture them effectively in photos.
This is a stunning and majestic addition to the public artworks in Esperance and is well worth a visit to see. The superb lawned areas around the work add to the attractiveness of the location.
Return? Yes armed with a better camera to catch all the nuances of the light and the tail.
