Beautiful walk around the reservoir with two miniature dachshund dogs

点评：We had booked a room for the night at the Haweswater Hotel and so parked up in their small car park and started our walk from there heading in the direction of Mardale Head. The whole reservoir walk took us around 5 hours plus an extra half an hour where we stopped for lunch. We walked at a leisurely pace, stopping for lots of photos. We had our two miniature dachshund dogs with us, and they managed fine, but the older did tire towards the end. One side of the reservoir has a lovely easy to navigate footpath. The other side was a lot of road walking as some of the path around the reservoir was closed, and where it wasn’t closed the terrain was very uneven and rugged which made for difficult walking (but this could be avoided if you stick to the road, but we preferred to be off road). A fantastic walk, stunning scenery, and very quiet and peaceful with very few other people around. We checked in to the hotel after our walk and enjoyed an ice cold drink whilst overlooking the reservoir.
