Kakunodate的点评
点评：I spent a day in Kakunodate, a Samurai castle town. The castle is long gone, but several of the samurai residences have been preserved. I started my visit at the Kabazaiku Woodcraft Museum, where they exhibit beautiful items made from mountain cherry tree bark. I had lunch in a busy noodle restaurant that was a former schoolhouse.

In the afternoon, I visited two Samurai residences. The first was the Aoyagi Samurai Manor Museum. It has many buildings and museum exhibits to explore. The second Samurai residence I visited is Ishiguro, which is still lived in by the family. They gave a guided tour of part of the residence. The guide spoke in Japanese and held signs with the English translation.
As I walked through the town, the streets were empty. It was a pleasure to stroll through this historic town.
