点评:I have long been a fan on Comenius! The very notion that education should be available to boys AND girls, rich and poor, and without excluding those with special educational needs must have been quite revolutionary in the 17th century!!!
My interest lies more in Comenius’ development of education, eg, the Janua, plans for teacher training as outlined in the Great Didactic. I find it interesting that each time the language teaching wheel is re-invented, the new ideas were already proposed by Comenius nearly 400 years ago, and elements of modern language teaching text books can be found in his writings.
The museum was informative, although mainly focussing on the development of Comenius’ religious and philosophical ideas. Perhaps a particular focus on education and pedagogy may have been helpful to see his ideas in today’s world.
However, I really enjoyed my visit. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
They say you should never meet your heroes, but I am glad I have met mine.
