Our tour Quito—Otavalo Area

点评：During our stay in Quito we did a one-day tour to Otavalo. It was wonderful and our guide, Angel, was in one word ‘Amazing!’ The three principal reasons for this qualification were his fluency in the English language that made communication easy, his in depth knowledge on a wide variety of topics, and last but not least he is really flexible, patient and friendly. For our tour we had a program that included tasting fruits and specialties, a visit to a weaving shop, walking across the famous market in Otavalo, and a hike in the area around the Peguche waterfalls. In each of the activities he adjusted the allotted time to our interests—for instance our tour’s emphasis was adjusted around our main interest of weaving and wildlife around the waterfall, and less time was spent on food and the market visit. His knowledge about history of the area, plant and animal wildlife, local traditions, and local geography is enormous—he uses it to answer questions, and he volunteers a lot of it during the tour as well.
In sum, we had an unforgettable and wonderful full-day adventure and we can totally recommend this experience!
