A must-see in Washington, D.C. – not only for the architecture, but for the incredible sense of history and symbolism

点评：Absolutely iconic – but so much more than just a photo spot.
Lincoln Memorial is one of those places you really have to experience in person. The monumental Greek-inspired architecture, 36 columns, enormous seated Lincoln statue and the inscriptions of the Gettysburg Address and Second Inaugural Address make it incredibly powerful.
What makes it even more special is the history that happened right here. These steps were the setting for Marian Anderson’s 1939 performance and, most famously, Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963.
We also loved discovering that there is a huge undercroft beneath the memorial, now open as a separate visitor experience with exhibitions about the construction and history of the monument.
And the view towards the Reflecting Pool and Washington Monument is simply unforgettable.
