点评:One of my earliest memories as a child was being down in Plymouth, watching a re-enactment of the Pilgrim Fathers leaving for America. I was staying in Boston for a few nights last month, prior to which I had no idea of the part the area played in their history.
We decided to set off to find the memorial but seemed to run out of signs to it once outside Fishtoft - I think we should've turned down a lane somewhere, but gave up in the end, parked up and went for a long walk to find it. Fortunately we like walking. In the end we found The Haven, the memorial and after that the car park we should've arrived at first, in that order. It's a lonely spot but we were glad we found it, and the interactive Horizon structure was absorbing and quite clever. The area around the memorial was tidy and appeared well-cared for, and there were information boards telling the Pilgrims' story.
It was a mild day for September so we carried on walking along The Haven for some distance and saw a fair bit of wildlife.
