Pagsanjan Falls的点评
点评：We accessed via the restaurant kainan sa tabing ilog which runs banka to the falls.
We paid 3450pp for two for our banka which took a max of 3 people. Remember to bring extra cash to tip bankeros (they recommended 2000pp each we gave them 1000pp). As well as the bankeros at the end who take you into the falls, I would have done 100pp probably for each of them.
What the bankeros told us. They rent the banka and they are not full time, nor employees of the restaurant. They get a spot every three weeks to work one ride and they make only the tip. They essentially pull the wooden boat or banka up the river against the current through the shallows and rocks. It is dangerous work especially since they do not do it all the time and don’t have intimate knowledge of the river and have to use their feet and legs to push against the rocks to get the banka forward. And you can’t really help them so a big tip is absolutely worth it. One false move and they could be seriously injured.
The bankeros at the bamboo raft pull you through the fall. You can leave your stuff with the first bankeros. But don’t take any through the falls which you are not ready to get soaked. The falls are quite powerful. Luckily I left my glasses with the first boat. I would have lost them otherwise.
Go early. We left at 9 and by the time we came back there were 5 banka on their way up. Ta not a huge place so getting there early we had the river and the falls to ourselves. Beautiful most coming off the gorge and it was not so hot. Most of the gorge would be in the shade but on the open river I’m sure it gets HOT. Bring a shade hat and water. There was no infrastructure at the falls.
