点评:Hi everyone, I just want to share a warning about our recent experience at this place.
Today, my foreigner husband and I went on the tour and were charged 1,450 pesos each for the boat ride, which I thought was fair. However, when I asked for the total bill, we were told it was 3,700 pesos. I was surprised, as the total should have been 2,900, but they said the extra amount covered “other fees.” We went ahead and paid, although the explanation wasn’t clear.
Midway through the trip, we stopped at a store selling food and drinks. I offered to treat the boatmen and told them to order what they wanted, as I genuinely appreciated their help. That was fine.
When we reached the falls, the man pulling the raft repeatedly asked for a tip, which felt very pushy. I still gave one, thinking it was part of the experience. On our way back, I gave the boatman a 500-peso tip and asked him to split it with his partner, but he gave me a dissatisfied look and asked if we could add another 500.
Honestly, I don’t mind tipping at all—but when it feels forced, it becomes uncomfortable. From the parking attendant, the person handing out life jackets, to those managing the tour, it felt like everyone was expecting something extra. Only later did we realize we had been overcharged.
It’s not about the money. What really upset me was that my husband—who is a visitor here—was left with a negative impression of my countrymen. That was deeply embarrassing for me.
The tour itself is beautiful, but the people managing it took away from the experience. It felt like outright exploitation of tourists. Is this really how we want to represent our hospitality?
Please be cautious if you plan to visit. This place has so much potential, but the way it’s being handled is a real shame.
