点评:Oh, we definitely have the holiday blues before even our holiday…😔
Yesterday afternoon – just 2 days before we were due to go on holiday – we received a phone call out of the blue to say our holiday had been cancelled. No email, no prior warning, no explanation. This is also outside your own 72-hour cancellation policy, which makes the whole situation even more frustrating.
We still haven’t been given a proper reason, but I can only assume it’s due to overbooking. The irony is that we booked this holiday over a year ago, and this isn’t even the first time this has happened to us. We’ve previously had a booking cancelled just days before because of overbooking too.
The lack of communication has been absolutely shocking. My mum was told yesterday that someone would call her back after looking into what had happened, but nobody has. To make matters worse, the woman on the phone even said she’d heard about the issue on Friday, yet nobody thought to contact us until yesterday afternoon.
To say we’re disappointed is an understatement. My children are heartbroken, especially as we’ve had two wonderful holidays here before and genuinely loved the place. We were really looking forward to making more memories.
We’ve now taken annual leave from work for nothing, and we’ve also paid for other bookings and activities that we now need to try and get refunded. We fully expect to be compensated, especially as this cancellation appears to be outside your own 72-hour policy.
The whole situation has been handled terribly from start to finish. Absolutely unacceptable!
‼️‼️We’ve now discovered that the lodge we had booked was advertised for sale yesterday, before we were even informed that our holiday had been cancelled. That suggests this didn’t happen overnight and raises even more questions about why we weren’t notified sooner.
If the lodge had already been put up for sale, surely there was enough time to communicate with customers who had bookings. Instead, we were left until just two days before our holiday to receive a phone call out of the blue, despite the company’s own 72-hour cancellation policy.
