Great Drivers, but Inconsistent Guide Quality

点评：We booked this 14-day tour more than six months in advance and specifically requested a Mandarin-speaking guide.
Unfortunately, our first guide could not communicate effectively in either Mandarin or English and had limited knowledge of Mongolian culture and the sites included in our itinerary. We requested a replacement. The agency was polite, but explained that they could not evaluate the guide’s Mandarin proficiency because they do not speak Mandarin themselves. However, this should not be the customer’s responsibility when a Mandarin-speaking guide has been requested.
After our repeated requests, the agency replaced the guide on the third day with a much better one.
We also paid an additional fee to stay in ger camps with private bathrooms whenever available. However, we still spent one extra night in a ger without a private bathroom and only found out after arriving. We had to contact the agency ourselves, and were simply told that all rooms with private bathrooms were fully booked. No compensation or alternative solution was offered, even though we had booked the tour more than six months in advance and paid extra for this service.
The drivers were professional and experienced throughout the trip. Overall, the transportation was excellent. However, both guides assigned to our tour were part-time guides and were not always able to provide detailed explanations of the attractions. Better guide screening and communication with customers would greatly improve the overall experience.
