点评:Basically does look like there was an emergency and suddenly abandoned. Slate mountains, loose slate, derelict remains of buildings. May not sound interesting but if you appreciate the historical significance it is a great immersion into a harsh and demanding environment which significantly helped drive Wales industry in the past.
The day we visited was extremely windy along with light rain, adding to the harshness of the landscape. We found it an intriguing place to visit and glad we added it to our trip. Oh, it also provided some stunning views of the valley below.
For parking, we headed to Blue Paris Mountain Centre and parked at a lay-by just metres before it. The 10min slight uphill trail up to the quarry starts at this lay-by. Like most of Snowdonia, the drive there includes navigating some v narrow lanes with few passing places.
