Worth the walk and so worthwhile!

点评：My husband and I really enjoyed visiting Ara Manzanillo. It was so interesting to learn about the Giant Green Macaw reintroduction station and the amazing work they are doing to help rebuild the macaw population in Costa Rica. Our guide was excellent and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, especially the impact the station has already had on the species.
A good thing to know before visiting is that there is a 1-kilometre uphill 3 tiered incline to reach the station. We did the walk ourselves and found it a little challenging, but it made arriving at the station feel even more rewarding. It’s also good to know that most drive up the hill which may be a better option for most visitors.
Hearing the conservation success stories and seeing the passion behind the project made this such a memorable part of our trip. It’s a wonderful experience for anyone who loves wildlife and appreciates the work being done to protect these beautiful birds.
