点评:As part of the tour itinerary, we visited the Dujiangyan Giant Panda Base, also known as Panda Paradise, near to the Giant Panda Habitat World heritage Area and is about an hour drive from Chengdu. We timed our visit to the feeding time in the afternoon and was fortunate see various typed of pandas for example few red pandas, giant pandas, moon bears all housed in their enclosures or natural habitats munching away the bamboo’s stems and leaves. There were not many tourists/ locals at this time, maybe it is wintertime and only “crazy tourists” like us will venture in a cold freezing day 😊. In my opinions and I stand corrected, after seeing pandas from other countries’ enclosure, I find that the maintenance in this panda base could be better and cleaner but maybe this why it is called “natural habitats” as opposed to man-made enclosures. Overall, it was fascinating witnessing so many different pandas’ antics munching away their foods and playing with their kins. (Although viewing of it is from quite a distance away). After that, we took a buggy ride back to the entrance. Noting that at the bus park, there is a lady selling organic pomegranates juice for RMB30 yuan in a panda bottle which to our surprise was sweet, refreshing and for me was a worthwhile expense in quenching our thirst and obtaining our vitamins for the day.
