点评:I took an one day tour from Lima to Caral (more on the tour company in a separate review). It is exhaustive, you think you are going to have a kidney failure due to lack of water, you might actually get dehydrated. Still... This is a MUST while in Peru. The ruins are still being excavated but what is already on display is truly amazing. If you have only one day for tourism while in Lima, this is where you should go.
Some tour operators sell the one day tour as wheelchair-acessible. It is NOT. It's too much sand for a wheelchair, even a motorized scooter might not be able to deal with the amount of sand here. The sun is scorching and a lot of walking is done in the ruins without any shadow rest. Do NOT go if you have young kids and/or elders in the group. Take a minimum of 3-4 liters of drinkable water per person. You will sweat everything you drink and still feel like fainting.
But the ruins will make you feel like you are breathing the air (and some sand) of your ancestors, regardless of your ethinical origin.
DO NOT try to self drive if you are not Peruvian. The road to reach Caral is convoluted, narrow, and sparsely populated. You will not want to be there with a broken car.
