点评:The personalities – both Austrians – successively owned the estate; they are obviously Arthur Hruska and André Heller, and to both of them we owe the current formula of the garden.
The first one (1880-1991), a dentist of European fame but also an expert botanist, is responsible for the creation of the garden, from 1903 onwards, and its progressive enrichment with specimens of plants from the five continents (with the parenthesis of forced exile during the First World War, as a citizen of a state at war with Italy). The second one (born in 1947), singer and artist, is responsible for the enrichment of the garden (since he acquired it in 1989) also with contemporary works of art, for which he involved many illustrious names.
The result is the gorgeous garden that we can visit today, where garden art and other figurative arts are closely intertwined, giving rise to a dense “rain” of fascinating sensations to anyone who walks through it (provided, of course, that they are sensitive to such charm).
The precious annotated map that is distributed at the ticket office allows you to decipher in detail the major and minor sights of the garden, separately for the plants and for the works of art.
Keep in mind that from November to February the garden is closed!
