点评:We visited this remarkable museum outside of downtown Bordeaux in early September. The weather was beautiful, and the tram system so easy to take to the Museum, with just a short walk to the main entrance.
we asked for a wheelchair due to my limitations as we checked in at the main desk with our pre-purchased online tickets. We were quickly admitted and provided with a wheelchair for me and we immediately set off to take in the many incredible exhibits and informative media displays, providing a rich history of wine—exploring the vineyards and the growing processes; the different terroirs of Bordeaux, its surrounding regions and the wine-producing areas throughout the world! It is easy to become overwhelmed by the wealth of information and multi-sensory experiences. To do it right, we recommend spending the whole day in order to explore everything the museum offers, especially the “rooftop” where one can venture outdoors after accepting a complimentary glass of wine…just beautiful!
We had previously booked a wine tasting for that afternoon, incorporated as part of our Museum experience. Our wine instructor was knowledgeable, if not a bit disorganized. We met a few other delightful people and enjoyed learning even more how to appreciate different wines’ qualities.
We cut our day short due to my limitations, but we HIGHLY recommend this Museum as a must-do experience in Bordeaux and plan to revisit it when we return to Bordeaux!
