Visited on a whim… so glad we did!
Firle Place的点评
点评：Went to Firle place on a whim as the weather was dreadful for a walk. Lady my friend spoke to on the phone was more than helpful, arranged for us to join the 12pm tour and although the Afternoon Teas were fully booked she managed to arrange for a table after the tour. She was a very friendly person, took my wet brolly for safekeeping, and checked in with us a couple of times throughout our visit.
Tour - well worth attending, the lady who took us round was clearly passionate about her knowledge of the house and history, she clearly knew her stuff and answered questions and engaged with the group well.
Afternoon Tea - was put at a lovely table overlooking the veranda, sandwiches were so fresh, the scones so big (choice of plain or fruited - recommend fruited one), and the range of cake slice made it difficult to choose which one to bring out at the end! (I had the chocolate and raspberry cake - delicious!) we were looked after by yet another lovely lady and young man, who were very happy to chat with us.
Grounds - sadly the weather was not great for a big hike, so we just wandered over to the village of Firle and had a refreshing drink in the pub. The village itself is so pretty, and we also looked inside the church but could not see the modern stained glass window dedicated to the Gages which the Tour Guide advised us to view, which was a shame. Cute church, and the village store is still arranged in old style shelving which was a pleasure to see as it fitted the village very well.
Great day out and will absolutely visit again!

场地——可惜天气不太适合长途徒步，所以我们就漫步去了菲尔村，在酒吧喝了杯清凉饮料。村庄本身非常漂亮，我们也参观了教堂内部，但导游建议我们参观的纪念盖奇夫妇的现代彩色玻璃窗却没能看到，真是太遗憾了。教堂很可爱，村里的商店仍然保留着老式货架的摆放方式，很高兴看到它与村庄的氛围非常契合。
美好的一天，一定会再来的！
