点评：The Badlands of both North and South Dakota are beautiful in their landscape textures and colors -- so very different from the eastern U. S. Badlands NP has a variety of rock formations as well as grassland. As we traveled the loop road early morning, we stopped at every overlook especially enjoying the ones enhanced by morning light. After spending midday in Wall, we traveled the loop road back in the opposite direction and stopped at the overlooks that are best viewed in afternoon light. One of my favorites was Yellow Mounds.
We were glad to stay two nights in one of the wonderful park cabins which gave us good rest and plenty of time for the park, the visitor center, the Minuteman Missile sites, and Wall Drug. Southwestern South Dakota is memorable with the Badlands and the gorgeous Black Hills.
If you can, consider also visiting the badlands at Theodore Roosevelt NP in North Dakota and the nearby town of Medora.
