Disappointing - Be Aware of Engine Cutting Off

点评：Our experience with this boat rental company was disappointing and frustrating,
As we were heading back to the drop-off point, the company remotely cut the power to our engine without any warning. This left us stranded on the water, trying to figure out what had happened. The engine was cut off precisely at the end of our scheduled time, despite the fact that we had boarded the boat a few minutes late due to no fault of our own. We were never informed that the engine would be shut off if we were late, nor that the boat was scheduled for immediate use after our rental.
Secondly, when our boat was disabled, we tried multiple times to contact the company for assistance. We were not given a specific customer service number, and the numbers provided on their website were ineffective. We made several failed calls before finally reaching someone. It's worth noting that despite having our email on file, the company never reached out to us to inform us about the status of the boat.
The confusion and stress caused by the engine shutdown and lack of communication led us to make a wrong turn on our way back to town, further delaying our return. We wish the company’s representative could have alerted us to our mistake sooner.
Finally, we were surprised to learn that the company kept our entire deposit due to the lateness (this was not communicated at all; they simply kept the money). We understand penalties for being late, but the amount they withheld was higher than what we paid for the entire excursion. This is disproportionate to their hourly rates and feels like an unfair and predatory practice. In conclusion, we advise others to be aware of these elements to the rental in advance of booking.
