Very overrated place! Expensive and not worth visiting!

点评：Very disappointing experience, especially considering the admission price of $25 per person — $75 for the three of us.
I had visited Taos Pueblo about 25 years ago and remembered it as a fascinating, authentic and memorable place. Sadly, this visit was very different. In my opinion, the Pueblo has lost much of the charm and atmosphere I remembered. The increased presence of tourist-oriented little shops, combined with the surprisingly unfriendly attitude of some staff members, made the whole experience feel considerably more commercial and far less special.
Before I had even entered or had the opportunity to read the photography rules, a staff member saw me holding my phone and abruptly ordered me, “Put that phone down!” No “please,” no explanation, no basic courtesy. I have absolutely no problem respecting rules, including restrictions on photography, but visitors can be informed of them politely.
Unfortunately, the unpleasant attitude continued during the tour. While the guide was speaking, I was taking pictures of a village dog. She apparently realized this herself, because she said, in front of the entire group, “Excuse me! I know you’re probably taking pictures of the dog, but I don’t want to be photographed!”
I was, in fact, photographing the dog and had no interest whatsoever in photographing her. If guides do not wish to appear in visitors’ photographs, that is perfectly reasonable — but this could simply be explained to everyone at the beginning of the tour rather than singling someone out publicly when they are not even photographing the guide.
For $25 per person, I expected not only an interesting cultural experience but also a reasonable level of courtesy and professionalism. Respect should work both ways: visitors are expected to respect the Pueblo, its people and its rules, and paying visitors should also be treated with basic courtesy.
I am genuinely sorry to say that the Taos Pueblo I remembered so fondly from 25 years ago seems to have lost much of its former charm. I left disappointed rather than enchanted.

事实上，我当时的确是在给狗拍照，根本没打算给她拍照。如果导游们不希望出现在游客的照片里的话……这完全合情合理——不过这一点其实可以在游览开始时向所有人说明，而不必在有人甚至都没在给导游拍照的情况下就当众指名道姓地批评。
每人25美元的费用，我期望能获得一次有趣的文化体验，同时也能享受到适度的礼貌与专业服务。尊重应该是双向的：游客应当尊重普韦布洛族、其人民以及相关规矩，而付费的游客同样理应得到最基本的尊重与礼遇。很遗憾，25年前给我留下美好印象的塔奥斯普韦布洛，如今似乎已经失去了往日的魅力。离开时，我感到失望而非着迷。
