点评:A brilliantly well presented museum of railways, with train exhibits including early and recent Shinkansen, regional trains and a collection of steam trains. The drivers cab of a Shinkansen can be sat in, as can many of the steam trains. There are working exhibits showing how different parts of the railways work, including power and level crossings. There are helpful volunteers around too. There is also a giant working train set featuring many kinds of Japanese trains in day and evening. One of the most impressive features is the old turntable - extraordinary - along with Thomas the Tank speaking Japanese! There is a small museum shop and a huge Starbucks opposite, with seating in an old tram car. There are some English descriptions alongside the Japanese ones too. It's well worth a visit.
