点评:My husband and I were lucky enough to visit Bacons Castle when we were the only people there. We purchased tickets for the guided indoor tour and while waiting for the tour time to start we headed out to the grounds for a look around. Outside there are boards with numbers you can dial into your phone and listen to the history while on the self guided part of the tour. The outside of the house is amazing with its Jacobean architecture. The chimneys are amazing. The last standing slave quarters was impressive to see and imagine how life was for them. Once our time was up for our tour we were showed around by Brenna who was very sweet, energetic and very knowledgeable. It being just us we got to take our time and really see everything in this house. The renovations presently being done and are going to be done will be a great addition in the continuing restoration of this place. The downstairs kitchen/cellar was very cool to see with the big fireplace and brick flooring. Was just amazing to be in the oldest brick house in the United States and it be in such great condition. There is a small artifact museum room, as well as a small gift and clean restrooms . Worth the visit !
