点评:We loved our day at Historic Jamestown.
I recommend arriving in plenty time to hear the guided walking tour at the Jamestown fort.
Our day came to life by first hearing William B. "Willie," I think, speak about the colonization of the site.
I never had a professor as entertaining - not in any subject.
The empathy that's created by hearing the guides' talk made our visit to the (truly outstanding) Archearium riveting and emotional.
During elementary school (early 1970's) I pictured the Jamestown settlement archeological work had been completed long ago. The shocker is that this archeology was not undertaken until the 1990's.
The delay in Jamestown archeological action reminds me of the (largely gentlemen) Jamestown settlers delay in learning to produce their own food.
The good news is that the individuals who have conducted the RE-discovery of Jamestown have clearly been well educated, enthusiastic, serious and dedicated to fine work at the Jamestown site that will make all Americans proud.
