点评:What we discovered after touring another site was that there are 3 Jamestown sites. This is the actual site and is an archeological site. They have a museum showing some of the artifacts they have found there including some of the people who died there. The admission is separate from the National Park, so even if you have a National Park pass expect to pay it to get into the area. The museum is well worth seeing. Some other areas were still under construction, like the refreshment stand. Many of the artifacts were recovered from a well that was filled in after the settlement was abandoned. Clean water was the problem since the river nearby was salty at times which the original settlers did not realize until they had been there awhile. So the wells were not pure but salty due to the high water table and nearby brackish river.
