Overpriced for What It Is
We were visiting Tahoe and thought Lakeside Beach would be a nice spot to relax. When we arrived, we were stunned to see the entrance fees — $30 for adults and $20 for kids (ages 6–17), with no lifeguard on duty and no weather-related refunds. Children 5 and under are free, but that doesn’t help much if you have older kids.
For that price, we expected at least some amenities or included services, but the sign makes it clear you’re on your own for safety. Credit/debit only, no cash accepted.
We decided to pass. Tahoe has so many beautiful public beaches that don’t charge a small fortune just to get in. Unless you’re staying nearby or have a pass, I’d recommend checking out other beaches in the area — you’ll save your money and still get amazing views and lake access.
