点评:It's October, and my two kids (ages 10 and 13) and I spent our fall break exploring Niagara Falls. If you're planning a visit, here's my biggest piece of advice: see the falls during the day and at night. The experience changes constantly, and both are absolutely worth it.
Our first impression was hearing the falls before we could even see them. The thunderous roar of the water carries from far away, building anticipation with every step. Standing next to the falls on the American side, you can truly feel their immense power. The ground seems to vibrate beneath your feet, and the rumble resonates right through your bones.
Viewing the falls from the Canadian side is a completely different experience. The panoramic views are breathtaking and allow you to appreciate the full beauty and scale of Niagara Falls. It's the perfect vantage point for photos and taking in the entire scene.
Then there's nighttime. Seeing the falls illuminated in vibrant colors, followed by fireworks overhead, was simply magical. It felt like an entirely different attraction from what we experienced during the day.
If you're wondering which side to choose, my answer is simple: do both. You need the American side to get close enough to feel the raw power of the falls, and you need the Canadian side to fully appreciate the spectacular scenery. Crossing between the two via the Rainbow Bridge was easy, quick, and well worth the effort. Note, there's only limited (and rather expensive) parking on the Canadian side close to the falls. Drive a few streets up and you might find better parking options.
I would recommend spending at least two days at Niagara Falls. Between the views, attractions, boat tours, walking trails, and evening light displays, there's far more to do than most people realize.
Niagara Falls exceeded our expectations and was a hit with the entire family. Whether you're traveling with kids or adults, it's one of those rare destinations that is just as impressive in person as you've always imagined.
