点评：This is a total rip off. The electorate was promised that the crossings would be free for the public once the bridge's costs had been covered....which was back in 2003. The system was chaotic, with every vehicle needing to slow down and put the correct change in a toll booth - it would be a tough task to find a less efficient and more annoying method, but they managed! We now have to pay online - the wait to cross the bridge/tunnel is longer than before. I paid for several crossings in advance, but I forgot to top up my payment, so I was sent a fixed penalty. In fairness, they allowed me to pay the crossing charge when I called - and I then opened an account and put in £40 so I would have trouble-free crossings for the foreseeable future. I just completed my first crossing as an account holder and have received a penalty notice...so I now have to call the call centre yet again. It's actually quicker to drive the opposite way around the M25 to avoid the inevitable queues and then the inevitable penalty charge.
