Fun Experiences, but Perhaps Room for Improvement

点评：We have visited this Children’s Museum twice now, and each time has been a fairly delightful experience. The slide in the middle of the main area is absolutely amazing, and my children have loved it on both visits. I appreciate the military discount they offer, as we are a military family.
However, I must mention that both times we visited, the diner and grocery store areas were quite messy. I'm not sure if it is customary for staff to clean these areas throughout the day, but I have not encountered such a situation in other children’s museums. A clean environment is essential for children to fully engage and play. On our most recent visit, we spent about four hours there on a Thursday, and the areas were not tidied by the staff during that time. In fact, I don't recall seeing many staff members throughout the exhibits to maintain the spaces or ensure that everything was in order.
As I attempted to tidy up some areas for my children to play, other kids came over and disrupted what I had organized. Perhaps this lack of child supervision by parents is a reason why staff do not prioritize cleaning. While it is not the facility’s fault that parents may not be supervising their children adequately or encouraging them to help tidy up after play, it is something to consider if you are seeking a pretend play experience for your kids.
On a positive note, my oldest son particularly enjoyed the boat and pretending to steer it. He was also thrilled to write a postcard in the art center, which was to be sent to his favorite baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles. Despite the cleanliness issues, we had a good day, and my boys were tuckered out by the time we left.
