This Cognac distillery tour is a must

点评：Today we visited the family cognac distillery of Bertrand’s at Réaux in France. Bertrand’s Cognac is a family firm with many years history as was explained to us by Seth at the start of our classic tour. The buildings and outdoor space are beautiful, along with the history it was stunning. We were shown around the various aspects of the production of Cognac by Seth who kept us informed throughout the tour as well as answering any questions we had. At the end of the tour we were invited into the tasting room by Seth who then informed us about how to taste the 2 cognacs and 2 Pinaeu de Charentes he had prepared for us, including the use of fresh figs grown on site and dark chocolate to promote the flavours, a truly amazing process.
once the tasting was concluded we were able to discuss with Seth any purchases we wished to make (not compulsory, no pressure sales), which includes tasting any cognac’s or Pinaeu’s not tried in the tasting room.
If you want to do a tour in the Cognac region I personally would go no further than this venue, it is interesting, very professionally presented, friendly and thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and only 12€ per person, great value.
