I visited here the weekend of 15-16th of November. During this weekend, they had a special free event in the front grounds showing various military regiments' reenactment of Revolutionary War daily life. There were great things to learn from the various men and women out here, as well as fun demonstrations with musketfire.
The museum itself was very well done. There are many exhibits here that encompass much of Virginia's history and affect in the world. From slavery to the Vietnam War, to modern day Virginia, there is much to see and learn in the halls. The museum I thought was well worth the small price.
I parked in the parking garage between here and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, which only cost 6 dollars for about 4ish hours.
Overall loved the exhibits on display, and would recommend this to anyone travelling to the area!
