点评:If you are looking for something to do on a day that is rainy and/or cold, this is a wonderful, educational museum to visit, and a bonus for tourists: admission is FREE!!
This museum has artifacts from Egypt, vases and other treasures from Greece, paintings from the Medieval period as well as paintings from the 17th, 18th and 19th century. We didn't have time to visit much of the sculptures in their Sculpture Court, but what we saw was impressive. During our visit it was not crowded at all and was quiet.
One downside of this place is that their map isn't terribly useful in helping visitors navigate through all the galleries, especially if you are trying to quickly find your way out to whichever entrance you came in. Fortunately there are plenty of employees scattered throughout the museum to help direct you back.
Be sure to visit the 1 West Mount Vernon Place (Hackerman House), which is connected to the main building but also can easily be accessed from the street, via Washington Place entrance. The House holds 19th century art as well as contemporary ceramics. It has an amazing marble floating staircase with Tiffany glass ceiling at the top of it.
There is street parking across the street, but we parked at the 15 West Franklin garage, where there was plenty of parking and the museum was a 3-minute walk away.
