点评：Been a while since we visited there. Was lucky enough to have commissioned a Wren Carving from Gary that eventually won First Prize in Ocean City at the Ward Museum. My wife's father had always wanted one so it was special that i was able to get this one. Took over a year to complete but well worth the wait. The B & B and Alpine Restaurant on site are great places to stay and eat. The old bridge that crosses in a small town was a nice walk with lots of shops there as well. The Village has a lot of premier artisans there from soap makers to weavers to blacksmiths. We stopped at a local farmer's markets for fruit that we shared sitting by the bridge and listening/watching the water. Gary is a lifelong resident of the area and his work is showcased at the Smithsonian as well as other venues. Even if you don't have a lot of money to spend you can get a great feather carving to start your own collection. The food at the Alpine Restaurant is Amish style and simply great. Lots to buy in the Alpine Store as well. All reasonably priced. Gary is always willing to take time to talk about his carvings and share his experiences. This is a must stop for anyone heading either to or from Cumberland, MD and the DC area. What are you waiting for? Reserve a room at the B & B and enjoy a trip to the past. Rev Ron Grossman
