点评：I grew up with this lovely old building decaying, so on a visit home was looking forward to seeing the restoration and heritage items.
Sadly, while it all looks lovely and seems to have been completed to a high standard, I felt there was far more on display and a lot more information readily available at the old heritage site. Have loads of items been put in to storage, if so why? or have they been thrown away? Should there be more display space upstairs?
While the cafe looks onto a courtyard, it is facing the busy A9, not the rolling fields & hills behind. Surely this part of the restoration could have been flipped 180 and the courtyard/carpark areas swapped. This would have made for a far more enjoyable space for both visitors & locals.
After my tour of the heritage area & shop I asked for a cup of tea, to be told I would have to wait 25/30 mins! for a cup of tea? They weren't even that busy.
Finally, when I visited there were no opening times on display, a basic necessity.
I left disappointed & unimpressed.
