点评:I LOVED visiting Historic St. Mary's City--the first capital of Maryland--in the 1630's! Some of the highlights were seeing the three lead coffins from the 1630's, but found in the chapel in 1990. Bodies were still in the coffins at that time, 36 years ago! I got to wear a "fur mantle" made of fox, deer, beaver, and raccoon pelts sewn together, at the indigenous village. We learned a lot about sailing ships from the knowledgeable guide on the "Hope" masted sailing ship docked there. My husband acted like Lord Calvert, by pounding his gavel on the meeting house table. I put myself in the stocks nearby! Even though the restaurant and a few other buildings were closed that day, I enjoyed this site so much. I recommend you make the drive down to this authentic village if you are anywhere near the area.
