点评:This might be a little long, but I am hoping to help future visitors. I have a few suggestions for exploring the main canyon and a shorter (and less informative) version at the end.
FIRST, get there before 7 am, if possible. You will most likely use the shuttle to get around the canyon and the first shuttle leaves from the visitor center at 7 am. Be there early and get in line immediately We were on the second shuttle of the day, only waited maybe 10 minutes. The shuttles only have so much space and fill up quickly. As the day goes on, the lines to get on the shuttle will only get longer and longer. By the time we left (about 1pm) the line at the visitor center was easily a few THOUSAND people deep...wrapped around the pavilions, buildings, all the way to the end of the parking lot. Those people must have waited literally hours to get on. If you choose not to use the shuttles (or don't want to wait), then you can walk or bike, but the total distance from one end to the other is 7.7 miles (so 15+ miles round trip, NOT INCLUDING any other hiking you might do).
SECOND, when you do get on the shuttle, go straight to the end (Stop 9). If you get off at earlier stops and still expect to go deeper into the canyon, you will probably have to wait a while to get on a shuttle, especially as the day goes on. The sheer number of people in the park was insane and like I said above, there is only so much room on a shuttle. If nobody gets off, you can't get on an already full shuttle. So...if you get off at an earlier stop to walk around and then try to get back on, you're pressing your luck. If instead you go straight to the end, it seemed like the shuttles going down-canyon (back to the visitor center) were a lot less full, at least in the morning. We did the park in reverse order and only got turned away from a full shuttle once all day and it was between stops 2 and 1 (visitor center), so we just walked the last mile along the road.
THIRD/LASTLY, be prepared and have a plan. The park gets very crowded, very quickly. As soon as you get there, get a map at the visitor center (or, if it's still closed because you got there early like I suggested, they have them available as you are getting on the shuttle). While you are on the shuttle, go over the map and decide what you want to see, where you want to hike, etc. Follow your plan; if you deviate, you will get frustrated because trails and shuttle stops get super busy. As far as planning ahead, bring multiple sets of clothing, lots of water, and a travel/sport backpack. Some parts of the canyon can be very cold in the morning because of a lack of direct sunlight. The day we were there eventually was in the mid-60s, but it was extremely cold in the morning, especially around the Riverside Walk and Narrows (both at Stop 9). You will want to dress warm early, but then be able to change to shorts and a t-shirt. There are lots of places to hike, some easy, some strenuous, so you will need water. I also saw a lot of people with hiking poles, but I think those were really only necessary for the Narrows and Angel's Landing; everything else was easy enough without them.
TL:DR...The park gets very busy and the shuttles can have extremely long wait times...get there as early as possible, go straight to the end (Stop 9) so you can do the park in reverse order to avoid some of the crowds, and plan ahead with proper gear.
