点评：The wife and I wanted to go to one of the nicer restored homes that are open for tours. It cost $29.00 with tax for two adults. No seniors or veteran discounts… Being both,I don’t appreciate that. It’s a 10,000 sq ft house with a 3,600 ft carriage house. You are supposed to get a tour of both. Ah, not really. The gift shop where you go to buy your tickets is the carriage house. The other half where they restore furniture, they don’t allow you to see. Then you go into the house but first you get a speech about you can’t take pictures because everything is so valuable that the insurance company won’t let you take pictures. So you are allowed into a hallway, a day room and office. You can glance into a bathroom and see the wallpaper that changes color but don’t walk in. Now look this cool stairway and bend your neck just the right way and you can see a Tiffany chandelier. But no, you can’t go upstairs and see all that area. The tour guide did point out a couple Ming vases and some paintings worth money but that was it! Oh I forgot you do walk around a sunken garden. This was the biggest disappointment of everything I saw in Savannah, GA. They should not say this is a house tour. It is only because a book was written about this place that it draws you to it. And the facts and what is in the book are two separate stories. How disappointing. Do yourself a favor, walk around the outside and you can say you have been there. It’s almost as much as you will see inside. I hate to disappoint anyone but I’m trying to review like I would appreciate hearing about it. The lowest review I have given.
