点评:We listened to a news report and decided to visit here from Portland. We had a warm and beautifully sunny day to come up to the visitor center at Mt. Saint Helen's after its recent reopening after a remodel had been done. We visited the main visitor center just off of I-5, the Forest Learning Center, and the Science Learning Center. The road to the Johnston Ridge Observatory was closed due to a massive land slide a couple of years ago that completely washed out the Spirit Lake Road to even get there, and which is still being repaired. I read that a two way bridge is planned to be built rather than simply repair the roadway as so much was washed away. We thought the displays were very well done, and we learned a lot from the pictures and videos about the eruption 45 years ago although we will never forget it as it occurred just a few weeks before we were married!! We could see several other snow topped mountains from this site, and on a clear and sunny day, it is so worth the travel time to come here!!
