点评：Our visit to Croft’s renowned estate, Quinta da Roêda, situated in Pinhão at the heart of the Douro Valley, was a memorable highlight of our journey. The visitors’ center, beautifully restored from the estate’s original stables, retains the traditional architectural style of the Douro region, creating a warm and authentic ambiance. This inviting space provided an ideal setting to sample Croft’s famous Port wines and offered the opportunity to browse a selection of local products, including the estate’s own extra virgin olive oil.
During our guided tour, we were shown various aspects of the winemaking process. We began by visiting the area where the grapes are crushed, an essential first step in crafting Port wine. The guide then led us to the vats used for storing and aging the port, explaining the unique characteristics that contribute to Croft’s celebrated flavors. The tour concluded with a tasting session featuring their signature Rosé Port accompanied by an appealing assortment of finger foods. Before leaving, we purchased a bottle of Rosé Port to enjoy at home, as well as a book about Porto to commemorate our experience
