点评:This is a great place to spend a couple of hours to learn more about pioneer life and the difficult journeys that brought the early settlers to the Salt Lake Valley. We went in February, when a number of exhibits and activities weren't open yet. Might be even more enjoyable in the summer or fall. I went there mainly to see the marvelous sculpture, Journey's End. Loved the museum, the sculpture garden, and other exhibits. For winter, the prices seemed rather steep, but would be worth it when the park is in full swing. Current prices: Adults: $18.95 (12-64), Seniors: $16.95 (65+), Children: $14.95 (3-11), Children 2 & under: free.
My favorite part was the sculpture "Journey's End" by Stanley J. Watts. I came here right before my mother's funeral, just hours after having met Elaine E. Christensen, the poet who was commissioned to write the beautiful pioneer poem, "Journey's End." That poem touched me so much that I read it in my remarks at my mother's funeral. The statue means a great deal to me now.
