点评：The Atlanta History Center is noted for three exceptional holdings -- the 360-degree panoramic painting, The Battle of Atlanta Cyclorama, the antebellum Western & Atlantic locomotive, the Texas, and one of four permanent collections, Down the Fairway with Bobby Jones, the legendary golfer and only winner of golf's Grand Slam. Located at 130 West Paces Ferry Road in Atlanta's Buckhead district, the museum was founded in 1926 and has a large campus featuring historic gardens and houses, including Swan House, Smith Farm and Wood Family Cabin. Atlanta History Center's Midtown Campus includes the Margaret Mitchell Marsh House & Museum, dedicated to the author of Gone With The Wind. One of the largest history museums in the Southeast, it promotes the history of Atlanta and also includes the DuBose Collection of Civil War artifacts, which features over 1,500 Union and Confederate relics, including cannons, uniforms, flags, manuscripts, photographs, political cartoons, personal papers, interactive digital maps, original documents and letters from Union and Confederate soldiers. Specifically, be sure to view the Confederate flag that flew over Atlanta during the city's surrender, the personal copy of Photographic View of Sherman's Campaign and the battle flag of the 127th U.S. Colored Troops bearing the words "We Will Prove Ourselves Men."
