Historic Richmond Town的点评
点评：We visit Historic Richmond Town every half a dozen years or so. Sometimes we're disappointed because all the houses aren't always open. When they are, they're staffed by thoughtful, usually very knowledgeable and often wonderful docents. We had the good luck recently to chat with the broom maker and see how it's done, ditto with the Revolutionary War reenactor who brought to life the two-room stone house and its patriot owner. He was marvelous with a family who had their children in tow; they hung on his every word.
Years ago we took spouse's dad, a metal worker, builder of furniture, and fan of old houses, and he had a whale of a time talking with the tin smith and barrel maker. It really is a place that everyone young and old can appreciate.
At least several houses are boarded up. This is a shame. The place needs a good infusion of cash. It would be worth it -- and certainly it's worth a good long visit. We spent over two hours on a hot July day. I don't know why we don't visit more often.
